Testimonials

My husband and I would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the American College Planners for all of your hard work. Your leadership and dedication in guiding ou daughter through the challenges of college entrance produced a positive outcome. Your assistance is truly commendable.

As we and many parents experienced during the last years of high school, many children feel their parents do not have all the answers. You were able to break through some of those parent child barriers and relate to our daughter. Through your guidance she was able to meet with the financial aid advisor of the University of Wisconsin-Madison on her own. Because of your direction she received the best results possible with student grants and loans. We believe you truly made the college planning and process a successful and rewarding experience for our daughter.

"All of our hard work paid off incredibly!  The college was able to crunch the numbers and gave us the most amazing aid package, much better than I ever expected.  Apparently they liked my appeal letter!  Our total aid package is over $33,000!  I am just absolutely thrilled.  The whole process was just amazing and I want to thank you so much for your hard work, our appointments, and late evening emails!"

Working with American College Planners was a great experience for the Amherst Youth Foundation. I found Bruce and Shawn to be very professional with a focus on helping families and those interested in attending college. Their presentation, expertise and knowledge of this complex and sometimes confusing topic provide a tremendous value for any family with students in high school. I have been working with families and youth for over 27 years. I highly recommend this seminar to all parents and those interested in attending college. Do it now!!! Don’t wait. It’s never too early to start the planning process.

My decision to check-out one of American College Planner's free workshops ended up being more than worthwhile, it was life-changing for my daughter. The information provided ultimately made it possible for her to attend her first-choice college, saving $17,000 over 4 years! The short investment in time spent at the workshop was well worth the surprising amount of valuable insight we gained. American College Planners' wealth of college selection and financial aid expertise is beneficial for any family with a college-bound student, no matter how little or great their level of financial means.

Thank you American College Planners, for your proven commitment to helping my daughter and other students achieve their college planning success stories!

"My experience working with American College Planners has brought nothing but satisfaction to my father and I.  With your help and guidance we were able to fill out the financial aid forms without doubting ourselves and confidently apply to schools that I knew were a fit for me.  You have been extremely helpful to us and I know we could not have done this without your guidance."

Looking back on the college planning process for our daughter, two items really made an impression on us. Starting her junior year in high school, we were unsure of the advantages of going to a smaller, private college as opposed to a larger reputable public university familiar with us such as UW-Madison and UM Minneapolis. After visiting schools as far away as Georgia, we realized that the private colleges have advantages such as smaller classes and greater focus on our daughter's interests that made them worth serious consideration.

As we all know, one major drawback of a private college is the perceived cost of attendance. The schools our daughter was interested in attending, cost from $37,000 to $42,000 per year, which was out of our budget range. Our first award letter presented us with a final cost of $18,000, but it was still more than we could afford. Through the negotiating skills that we learned from American College Planners, we received an additional $4,000 per year in scholarship funds offered from the private college we had selected. This will amount to a total savings of $16,000 over four years that neither we as parents, nor our daughter, need to pay back. This made the school of our daughter's choice affordable. The cost is actually less than going to UM Minneapolis or UW-Madison!

Thanks for your assistance!

Thank you for taking an interest in our son. We really enjoyed our meeting and remarked at how excited this made him. He is realizing that his future really is in his own hands. American College Planners did a wonderful job motivating.

I was attempting to file my daughter's FAFSA. Two hours into the form, when I had a question, I first spoke with my accountant, they advised me to ask the school. I called the financial aid office, and they suggested I call FAFSA. I spoke with FAFSA, and they suggested I ask my accountant! I met with one volunteer, and they were able to answer my question conclusively and correctly. That answer saved me thousands in eligibility! Thank you!

Because of your assistance my daughter Jessica received almost $20,000 per year in free scholarship money that I did not have to pay back. Also, thank you for helping me negotiate between our final two colleges and leveraging $3,000 more per year out of RIT. This is a great program, anyone that has kids as early as freshman in high school should attend, it is great!
